I can’t recollect exactly when I fell in love with him. They say true love happens only once. I disagree. Strongly disagree.
And why not ? Every time I fall in love with a new guy, my love for the previous one remains intact. Well, you can see how passionate as a lover I am. And to add to it, may I humbly say that this passion first blossomed in my tiny heart when I was just a kid ?
Hell yeah, ‘Chanachur’ was my first love. Ignoring the angry eyes of all my guardians I started to spend my breakfast, lunch, dinner only with him. Years spent, I stepped into adolescence & this time ‘Aloo Kabli’ became my sweetheart. School tiffin period used to be the best time in the day & one could spot me only beside the aloo kabliwala that time. Then one day I transformed into a college going ‘girl’ and gradually Jhalmuri became my first heartthrob in the entire campus. Life was cool until marriage and then suddenly a woman born out of my girlhood making me realize during my first few months of cooking (read ‘learning to cook’) that it’s basically the ‘salt’ I am in love with.
Because we all can live without anything but not food. And except the desserts which are optional anyways, it’s the salt which is the basic requirement for all kinds of dishes even for the boiled ones. So be it Chanachur, Aloo kabli, Jhalmuri or any other stuff across the globe all will be tasteless without this Great SALT.
And I can’t live without that. Not a single day. Be it 14th February or the rest 364 days.
